After our amazing patient (hockey) appreciation day where everyone played full out (we’re got the pictures to prove it!) and an overflowing response to our “Weight Loss – the right way” workshop that happens on Thursday we are pretty excited about you . . . and how as a community you are stepping into lives fully abundant in health and life. So, we decided to throw something else into the mix and finish April off with a week of giving. Only until the end of this week, you can give a free spinal check up to someone you love and care about. $130 for free! Give their name into Sasha by Thursday and it’s all on us.
ORANGE THEORY
I want to tell you about a really good experience I had a couple of weeks ago. I had someone give me two free passes to check out a gym. I’ve been to a lot of gyms before, so went in with the usual expectation that it is “probably a good place to workout, but nothing special”. Natacha and I went together (it was my turn to decide what we would do for a date that week!) When we arrived we did the usual paperwork – nothing excessive, then they fitted us with wrist heart rate monitors and put our names and changing heart rate up on the tv screens that were all through the workout area. As other people arrived more and more names went up until there were about a dozen people’s heartbeats displayed for all to see. They are shown in different colors for different levels of heart rate. It was a little disconcerting, but really cool at the same time because they give you a goal to get to certain levels of exertion as many times as possible through the workout. The workout itself was awesome. Half was intervals of cardiovascular exercise and the 2nd half was a circuit training with free weights. The whole time a personal trainer is working with everyone and guiding you through it. It was tough, but only as tough as you made it – by the end I was drenched and so was the lady who is slated for hip replacement surgery! It was a motivating community environment that had almost a competitive (you against you) push to it, that I had never experienced before. I enjoyed it so much that I asked for some passes for you, our patients, to give it a try. If you are up for a good workout let me know and I’ve got a free pass for you.
WHY I WILL NEVER MANIPULATE YOU
Some may say this is symantics like tomato-tomaatoe and usually I don’t care for being picky about wording, but I do care about this one. It’s strikes a cord in me if someone says, “manipulation”. According to many medical, health and even chiropractic circles that is what we do, manipulate the spine. The problem is that to manipulate implies “to deceive”. That is not what we do here and that is why you come here, for a specific, scientific chiropractic adjustment were we work with you to achieve something that is truly good.
PERSISTENCE
I want to make a special mention about Meryl. Meryl started care about 8 months ago with severe radiating nerve pain into both knees. With lots of damage in her spine I let her know that it would not be a quick fix, but that if we worked together she would see results. For 6 months Meryl saw little to no change (a good day once in a while after an adjustment). Meryl’s left knee has been feeling way better for 2 months and now her right knee is too! I let her know that she deserves all the credit, a lot of other people would have quit. We often over-estimate what we can accomplish short term and exceedingly underestimate what we can do long term. Way to go Meryl!!!
God Bless,
Dr. Brad, Dr. Paul and the New Life Team
PS – please make sure that if you cannot make the workshop to let Sasha know. There are many waiting in the wings – thanks!
