There is massive confusion surrounding the word arthritis. In the world of the medical model it is
seen as slowly progressing degenerative, debilitating, non-reversible condition causing severe
suffering in those afflicted with it. As part of the misunderstanding, it is thought that beyond your
bodies joints, what you do in other areas of your health has nothing to do with arthritis. FALSE!
What you eat, how much stress you carry, exercise and your posture all play critical rolls in pushing
or preventing degeneration.
That’s right, just like everything else, when it comes to your health, what building blocks (food) you
put into your body can make you healthy or sick. Choosing whether to take stress in, or to see
everyday as a blessing can make you healthy or sick. Moving and training your body can make you
healthy, if you do it, or sick if you don’t. Choosing to stay positioned upright, or being a slouch . . .
can make you healthy or sick! Are you getting this? Let it sink in! You control your future and your
health. Just last week a gentleman started care. He uses a cane, is an advanced phase 3 of spinal
(arthritic) degeneration and is losing power to his legs. This week he convinced himself that because he
didn’t have a lot of pain that he didn’t need care, so he stopped! It’s crazy, I know! It does not make
sense. Our mission is to set people free to live the abundant life, but to quote Dr. Gonstead, “you
gotta wanna!”
Arthritis is not because of age – many suffer arthritis in one knee (or hip, or shoulder, or wrist, etc.)
and blame it on age. The other knee, hip, shoulder, wrist is exactly the same age!! Same thing
happens in the spine – a disc may be in a phase 2 or 3 of damage and the one above and below it
can be normal and healthy. Without a doubt arthritis requires time to happen, so the longer you’ve
been around the greater the chance it has progressed (the misalignment has had more time to
cause damage), but it is not a cause (age) and effect (arthritis) relationship.
GOOD NEWS! Arthritis can be avoided. It doesn’t need to progress and you don’t have to keep it
for the rest of your life. Corrective chiropractic care, building up joint muscles, and getting nutritional
necessities can actually reverse arthritis. The major key is to keep the body in the proper alignment
so that excess wear and tear doesn’t happen. The only thing that will do that is regular, specific,
scientific chiropractic adjustments.
IT’S COMPASSION WEEK!
How many people do you know who have suffered for years thinking that there is nothing that
can be done to help arthritis? How many kids do you know who are creating new
misalignments every day? How many people do you know who have spinal misalignments
putting choking pressure on their spinal cord causing some myriad of symptoms? People close
to you? People you love and care about?
It is amazing to me is that I somehow hit the timing bang on. The last 2 weeks we have had a
whole bunch of people asking for and taking Compassion cards. What an amazing thing!! To
everyone who is on the look out for people who need our help, I want to sincerely thank you.
