Great News!

When you come here, you get specific Gonstead adjustments!THE GONSTEAD SYSTEM is unique because it is thorough, complete and specific in both analysing and adjusting the spine. The Gonstead practitioner addresses your entire spine when evaluating for the presence of vertebral subluxations (spinal misalignments producing nerve interference or irritations), which produce ill health.THE GONSTEAD ANALYSIS consists of five criteria to detect the presence of the vertebral subluxation complex.¨ Visualization is a way to begin to evaluate the spine mechanically and to cross-reference all the other findings. Subtle changes in your posture and movement could be indicative of problems.¨ The Nervoscope is the instrument used to detect uneven distributions of heat along the spine, which can be indicative of inflammation and nerve pressure.¨ Static Palpation is the process of feeling your spine in a stationary or static position, in order to detect swelling, tenderness and any abnormal texture or tightness in the muscles and other back tissues.¨ Motion Palpation involves feeling your spine while moving and bending it at various angles, to determine how easily or difficult each segment of your spine moves in different directions.¨ X-ray analysis enables your doctor to visualize the entire structure of your spine. This is helpful in evaluating for any disease processes, fracture, posture, joint and disc integrity and vertebral misalignments.THE GONSTEAD ADJUSTMENT is very precise and only addresses the problem areas (areas of subluxation). Great care is taken to ensure a mechanically correct position and accurate thrust to provide the most specific adjustment possible. It is the goal or your Gonstead doctor to restore and maintain optimal health by locating and correcting any interference to the nervous system caused by vertebral subluxation.“Find the subluxation, accept it where you find it, correct it and leave it alone.” C.S. GonsteadA BRIEF HISTORY OF GONSTEADIn 1921, Clarence S. Gonstead, at 23 years of age, enrolled in the Palmer School of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. This decision was made after his remarkable recovery from a severe case of rheumatoid arthritis in which chiropractic adjustments allowed his body to heal from within. After graduating in 1923, Gonstead returned to Wisconsin to open his first practice in the small town of Mt. Horeb, with a population of less than 1,400. As the years passed, Gonstead’s reputation as a healer spread across the United States and internationally. The Gonstead Clinic of Chiropractic, which opened in 1964, was the largest chiropractic clinic in the world. With a total area of approximately 20,000 square feet, the clinic has a waiting area that can seat over 100 patients. There are 11 adjusting rooms, and a seminar room that can hold more than 200 students. Next door, the 89-room Karakahl Inn was built to accommodate patients from faraway places who sought care from Gonstead or his associates. The Gonstead Technique is considered by many to be the most thorough and specific, full-spine, hands-on method of evaluating and adjusting the spine. Gonstead felt that many chiropractors would spend most of their time adjusting compensations in the spine instead of the vertebral subluxation itself. Locating the actual subluxated/fixated segment(s) was to him more important than the delivery of the thrust.Visit the following websites for more information: www.gonstead.comwww.gonsteadseminar.comThere is only one Gonstead clinic in Barrie,Bayside Family Chiropractic!
