Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and many other auto-immune disorders are becoming far too common. Estimates show more than 1 in 50 adults suffer from fibromyalgia, making it the single most common musculoskeletal condition worldwide, affecting 4 million people, including many right here in our community.
WHAT IS FIBROMYALGIA? It is a chronic condition characterized by pain, fatigue and multiple tender points. These tender points are typically found around the spine, shoulders and hips. Sleep disturbances, sleeping without feeling rested, general stiffness, irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety and depression and other symptoms may also be components of this disorder. According to the medical profession, the precise cause of fibromyalgia is unknown, and because many of the symptoms can mimic other diseases, this condition can be challenging to diagnose. Other symptoms which can occur include constipation or diarrhea, headaches, difficulty concentrating, and tingling in the hands or feet.
Standard treatment for this condition is simply aimed at controlling symptoms, however, many patients who suffer with fibromyalgia have literally been given there lives back through chiropractic right here at New Life!
“I’ve been seeing Dr Brad for about a year now. I had fibromyalgia for 10 years before coming to New Life and was in constant whole body pain. I didn’t have much rotation in my neck, but now can turn my neck both ways with no problem. It didn’t happen over night, but I actually have days now without any pain at all! That’s a miracle for me, as just getting out of bed was hard for me at one point. I was hesitant to come here for fears of making it worse, however, it’s been great and I just want to say Thank you!” ~ Teresa
“I’ve been going to New Life for about 7-8 months and I have significantly improved my fibromyalgia flare ups and have completely gone off medication. I will be forever grateful!” ~ Emily
