This week it is time to give you an update on Anita’s story (from the handouts a few weeks ago). Here is the next step in her adventure to get herself living the abundant life and getting ready to dance!
“Dr. Brad asked me if I would share my latest “health escapade” with you so here it goes. For many years I have tried and tried and tried to lose weight. It didn’t seem to matter what I did or didn’t do the scale would not budge. I’m sure many of you can relate to trying to achieve a goal and just not being able to have success.
I had pretty much given up; however, I have never been a quitter and have usually found a way to achieve success even if it required a hard road. An opportunity presented itself for a 60-day weight loss program at the naturalpath clinic… Hmm, then the thought of one more try, one more attempt, and of course one more failure started to creep in. I could remember looking back and having done everything right and I never lost any weight. I wasn’t so sure I wanted to do it; however, I did want my weight to drop.
I spoke with a girlfriend of mine who was over the top positive and she convinced me to put it to prayer and invite the Lord to take this journey with me. She also said “do not think of it as one more try, one more attempt, just do it and don’t look back”, so I decided OK I will bring the Lord along with me this time and I asked her and another friend to be my prayer partners and off I went.
Now I signed up just as the class was starting so I didn’t have much time to understand the program, it was like jumping in the deep end of the pool while not knowing how to swim. I felt like an athlete in an intensive training program. The program involved both exercise and diet, but there was a complete change in food prep time, and so it was all I could to keep up with the meal plan. So, I decided to not do the exercise portion but keep the meal plan and if it wasn’t in the meal plan it didn’t go in my mouth. In the 60 days I was able to drop 28 lbs oh yeah! I was over the top pleased, so I am here to tell you when you invite the Lord to come along with you – nothing is impossible!
Now where am I at? I am currently preparing to gear up for phase 2 which will include going back on the meal plan and also introducing the exercise portion. Be encouraged to set a goal and just go for it – and remember to bring the Lord along with you!”
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead they put it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify you Father in heaven.
Way to go Anita!
