After 22 years of practice, it’s not very often that something surprises me, but yesterday someone did. They gave me a small envelope and said thank you for everything that would happen over the next 12 months as they were adjusted. Inside was the most brilliantly bright thought I have seen in my practice. As you can see, this patient was saying thank you for the healing now… before it happens. She came to us a couple weeks ago, and like many of you, had been through a lot. Lots of pain, lots of suffering, few answers and a lot of doubt and thinking that her best days were behind her. But she had hope, so after her report last week, we started care. She gave me this note on the day of just her 3rd adjustment!!
Some of you know, but others of you do not – your words are powerful! And whether you believe in your own doubt or chose to believe in what you hope for, can be a game changer. Some say laughter is the best medicine, but more truly, it is hoping and believing (really believing) that makes the difference. Time and time again I have watched people come in with massive problems, but a massive expectation of goodness to come from the adjustment, and – they are always right. Yes, it’s true, the people who come in and allow themselves to believe in their hope of their health and life being restored are always right!
This week another lady came in for her first visit. As I told her after the exam that we would be able to help, tears welled up and she began to cry. It was so heart felt, in that moment I felt overwhelming gratitude to be able to have the means to tell her, “We can help.” (It is such an amazing blessing to be a chiropractor and work with all of you). Through the tears she said, “No one has ever told me that before.” She is in her 30’s and has suffered for years and like many, you would never guess on the outside what she was going through on the inside. Praise God, for how her life is going to change this coming year!
Another lady looked at her son’s x-rays last night and felt awful. Her son has asthma and they have been through the usual channels and seen his respiratory numbers become worse as he was on medication, she had tried other avenues to help as well. As she looked at his x-rays she could see a reverse c-curve in his upper neck, right where the brain’s respiratory center sits. She realized it didn’t matter how much medication, dietary change, or anything else they might try, that nothing would change until the mechanical strain was removed from his upper spinal cord and neck. With tears, her and her husband were determined to make his care here happen.
Walk in the hope and expectation of your own healing and abundance of life and you’ll be surprised how fast things can change!
God Bless
