Stop Playing Games with your Health

North America has evolved to a high tech, low touch health care system. In Canada and the U.S., we take more drugs and have more medical technology than anywhere else in the world. Yet most experts agree, our health is poor and declining. What are we missing?

Most people in our country believe that being healthy and feeling good is the same thing. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Although many people might feel good (and think they are healthy), most health conditions are chronic and progressive in nature.

Look at cancer, or even heart disease. You can’t feel clogged arteries. You can only feel the effects of clogged arteries over time… usually many years later. Then it might be chest pain, shortness of breath or even tingling in the fingers. Or like many of the poor unfortunate heart disease carriers, the first symptom… is sudden death from a heart attack. Not good.

When people finally get their symptoms, whether they are chest pain, low back pain or a headache, they treat the symptoms by taking drugs. Many times, they even feel better, albeit only temporarily. Now they think that their health is returned and everything is okay. Not okay.

Symptoms like pain, are only alarms from your body… warning signs of danger. Like shutting off the fire alarm when your house is on fire and letting it burn to the ground, you haven’t really corrected the problem.

We make the same mistake with our health by covering up our symptoms (alarms) by taking drugs. In the short term, we might feel better, but we’re dying on the inside.

We take a different approach. They look beyond the symptoms and examine their patient for the cause of their health problem. Often times, a misalignment of a vertebra in their spine is causing interference or pressure on a nerve going to the malfunctioning body part. This misalignment is called a subluxation.

Correcting the subluxations by making a series of specific adjustments allows the body to heal itself by addressing the cause of the problem, not merely covering up the symptoms with drugs. Once the underlying problem is corrected, then the feeling good, which follows, is just a nice side effect.

Are you playing games with your health? It’s time to take control of your health and the health of your family.
