The Grand Adventure

How do you look at your day?

This is an important question because how you look at your day has a lot to do with how you day goes – good or bad.  How you day goes, in turn has a lot to do with stress levels and how quickly your body heals and how soon you will reach the pinnacle of your health.

Here is the voice inside the mind of 2 different people:

# 1        I’m tired.  I have this, this and that to do, on top of my busy work day and I’m never going to get it done, and I should get a birthday present for my son and my wife needs to know I care more – what a burden.  I don’t know if I can manage.  I’m probably going to get in an argument with so and so at work – man I can’t believe it, I’ve got so much to do, ahh, I need a coffee, I’m tired.  What a gray day, I think they are calling for snow – I can’t believe it – snow and it’s nearly June – that sucks!  I feel shaky from those 1st 2 coffees . . . . .  I’m so tired though (up late last night).  I wonder if I have time to stop at Timmies for 1 more coffee?  I need 1 more, just to get through this morning!

# 2        Today is going to be an adventure.  I’ve got a million things to do.  It’s going to be busy, but it’s going to be awesome!  I’m going to get my wife some flowers on the way home and tell her that she is beautiful and that I love her more now than ever before and that next year I’m going to love her even more than I love her now.  Coffee – shmoffee, I’ve got to keep my head straight if I’m going to make this happen.  I’m going to get the coolest birthday present for my son – maybe a skate board or sling shot?  He’s going to be so excited.  I can’t wait to give it to him!  Gray day – who cares – this day is a gift!  I’m going to live it, because (if for no other reason) I don’t even know how many more I’ve got!

Which one has more stress?

Which one is going to sleep better that night and wake up more refreshed for the next day too?

Who is going to have more fun?

Who is going to have more impact on other people?

Who is going to have more love and be more loved?

Who is going to live more life and love life more?

Who would you rather be?

No matter what your attitude, most days will not go perfect, but it sure can make the day better if you look at it like an adventure. – Every day is a simple choice – Walk each day towards your dreams and visions for your life (or plod through each day wishing it was over).

What makes you come alive?  What makes you feel inspired?

Where do you need to go from here?
